Katie Harris was raised in rural Idaho, where she was influenced by the landscape from an early age. A self-taught artist, her biggest inspiration was her great-grandmother, who brought beauty and life to her humble home and family in Caldwell, Idaho.
Katie and her family still reside just a few miles from where she was raised. She paints often, especially enjoying Plein Air painting, and seeking connection with the Idaho land and sky, it's particular seasons and moods. Her work brings awareness to the beauty and nobility of agriculture, and of the other forms of hard work that characterize those she admires most. Her recent Working Hands series is an exploration of that nobility.
